Children’s Bedroom Furniture Past and Present

In recent years, children’s bedroom furniture has become much more fun and aesthetically pleasing. Past generations of children had to make do with very basic bedroom furniture, and most children’s rooms would only have basic beds, plus ugly chests of drawers and maybe a wardrobe. Their bedroom walls would typically be decorated with pictures they had torn out from magazines. In the 1980s things improved somewhat, as companies realised there was a lot of money to be made from designing products that would be fun and decorative for kid’s rooms. It became commonplace for children to have bedding sets showing their favourite cartoon characters, popstars or football teams.

Nowadays, there is no end to the fun products that can be purchased for children’s bedrooms. Many themed furniture items are available, including Princess castle beds for little girls, and pirate ship beds for the boys. Many of these beds also have very practical storage space as well as an incorporated computer table and bookcase.
